Dr. Nelson Haden has been practicing veterinary medicine since May, 1982. He attended NC State for his undergraduate degree in zoology and then attended Auburn University for his veterinary degree. He started his veterinary career at Boulevard Animal Hospital on Western Blvd in Raleigh. He moved to Goldsboro in 1986 and practiced for two years at Berkeley Veterinary Clinic. In October 1988, he started the Animal Medical Center of Garner on Highway 50 in Garner. He loves the small town atmosphere of Garner, as he grew up in Asheboro, NC.

He is married to Joy and has two step children, Hank and Katie. He and Joy attend Holland’s United Methodist Church where both sing in the choir. He has been an active member of the Garner Lions Club for 23 years and has enjoyed being involved with the Garner Chamber of Commerce, where he has served as chairman and on the board of directors.

He enjoys working with his clients and their pets to provide the best care for their pets. He knows their pets are such an important part of their lives. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, fishing, and outdoor activities. One of his goals is to work with the Christian Veterinary Mission group (www.cvmusa.org) to go on a short (2 week) mission trip to areas either in the United States or another country to help with care of the animals in that region and help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
